Abstract :
Measurements of the harmonic spectra of the ac side currents were performed on different clusters of variable speed drives in some industrial power systems. The measurement records span over two working days. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the statistical characteristics of the measured current harmonics produced by clusters of dc and ac variable speed drives. The measured data are filtered and the collective current harmonics probabilistic models based on the statistical bivariate normal distribution (BND) approach are presented and discussed.
