Abstract :
Modern control technology coupled with major parallel advances in microprocessor technology provided the catalyst for the development of schemes to overcome the current operational problems and thereby greatly improve the efficiency of control. Here, one particular section of the gas transmission system is considered whose role is to supply gas to the regional authorities at required pressures, the Above Ground Installations (AGIs). The gas is extracted from the national transmission pipeline and dropped to the desired pressure using a two stage regulation process consisting of two series pressure regulators
