Abstract :
We have demonstrated the use of test signals with non-impulsive autocorrelation function (ACF) to obtain an accurate estimate of the impulse response of an unknown baseband system. The same concept was then applied to the problem of radio channel evaluation, and it was shown that it is possible to obtain an accurate estimate of the channel impulse response using probing signals with arbitrary ACFs
