Abstract :
This paper explored the reservoir geology and characteristics of oil fields wastewater in Northern Shaanxi, and developed a new polysilicate complex (PsiC) coagulant. The coagulant is used to treat the oil field wastewater and the experimental results show that it exhibits better performances than PAC and FeCl3 flocculants. After oil wastewater treated by PsiC, turbidity could be as low as 1 NTU, COD elimination rate is up to 85%, oil content is 10-14 mg/L and suspended substance (SS) content is 2-4 mg/L, which imply that the PsiC coagulant is more suitable for oil field wastewater treatment.
