Abstract :
The paper proposes a bilevel programming model for security-constrained unit commitment. The upper level solves an optimal power flow problem based on a DC power flow model; the lower level gives the unit commitment results of each subsystems as well as the required lagrangian multipliers for the upper levelthus the two levels can be solved alternately. In this paper a 16-bus system with l9units is analyzed to exhibit the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
