Abstract :
The present paper considers the design of a novel two port planar dipole-like antenna utilizing pattern diversity for MIMO wireless applications at WLAN. The envelope correlation coefficient calculated using simulated scattering parameters over the entire operating frequency band indicate low correlation and consequently good diversity/MIMO performance. The MIMO system has low mutual coupling, low envelope correlation, good diversity gain and high efficiency over the frequency band. The antenna design parameters and simulation results are discussed.
