Abstract :
Emergency controls are means that usually are taken when severe disturbances occur and power systems are in extreme danger. The common approaches for solving the emergency control problem are to depict it as an optimization problem, but it is too complex to solve in an effective way in real time. In this paper, a new search and verifying scheme to solve the emergency control problems. The new scheme converts the emergency problem into a satisfiability checking problem. Load shedding and generator tripping as two commonly deployed emergency controls are used to illustrate the new scheme. The way of abstracting the emergency control problems into Boolean functions is detailed. On this basis, the algorithm to search the truth value of the Boolean functions is designed. Then, some simulation results are exhibited to demonstrate the advantages of the scheme. At last, some conclusions and expectations are given to show the potential of the scheme.
