Abstract :
A method is presented for matching a pair of stereo images. It is based on a dynamic programming approach (DP), that ensures both optimal comprehensive matching of the scene and optimal matching of each primitive pair. The method differs from classical methods for stereo vision, because it does not require scanning of the picture along epipolar lines. The matching process consists of three steps: detection of edge primitives, ordering of these primitives in the form of two linear sequences and optimal matching of these sequences by DP
