  • Abstract
The line spectra can be reduced greatly by chaos, but high efficiency of line spectra reduction also results in large amplitude. That is deficiency for engineering implementation. In order to improve the performance of line spectra reduction and attenuate the amplitude of the main system, the model of linear system coupled with an essential non-linear absorber is studied in this paper. The linear system is induced to chaotic motion by the absorber, and the bifurcation diagram with frequency ratio is plotted. Some parameters for periodic and chaotic motion are obtained, and the effectiveness of line spectra reduction is verified by simulation. The results also show that the amplitude of the linear system is attenuated at the same time. This technology would be significant for engineering implementation.
