  • Abstract
A modified E-plane trifurcation is proposed as a power divider for broadband triplexer applications. The modified E-plane trifurcation is full-wave characterised by means of mode matching and the generalised scattering matrix (GSM). A Ku-band triplexer with the modified power divider and three pass-band all-pole third-order Chebyshev filter channels has been designed. The channel filters have been implemented by means of an E-plane metal insert to obtain a compact and low-cost structure. The accurate and efficient full-wave GSM method has been applied to analyse and optimise the whole device. The predicted and measured performances of the designed triplexer confirm the good properties of the modified E-plane trifurcation proposed for broadband triplexer applications.
