Abstract :
The possibility of energy conservation through the application of cogeneration methods in homes or small businesses in Greece is explored. Two alternatives are compared. The first situation is where a hot water heater is used and electricity is bought from a utility to meet energy needs. The second alternative is the use of a cogenerator to produce hot water and electricity, with all excess electricity produced sold back to the electric company. For a small business and a home-owner the two alternatives are compared to see if it would make sense to use cogeneration
