Abstract :
This study has analyzed the fundamental characters of banknote-printing wastewater, as well as its anaerobic biodegradability and methanogenic toxicity using a bioassay technique. Experimental results indicated that phosphorus salt had a deficiency, which should be added according to CODBD:N:P=30 ~ 500:5:1; the wastewater was able to use anaerobic biotreatment with its biodegradability of 79.6%. The overall inhabitation of banknote-printing wastewater containing some toxic substances was 89.6%, and was high toxicity for the aerobic microbes. So pretreatment of suitable detoxication or dilution was sure to take on before anaerobic treatment.
