Abstract :
In this paper we have investigated the excitation of the HEM21δ mode, another higher order mode in Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator Antenna (CDRA) by using a surface short probe feeding technique. The modal field variation due to metallic perturbations for this field configuration has also been presented here. The co-polarized gain has enhanced by 2dBi in H-plane with symmetrical E-field distribution but in case of E-plane the gain is decreased by 2dBi with asymmetrical distribution of E-field.
