Abstract :
General guidelines for promoting university-industry cooperation in developing countries as well as other countries are presented. This involves the identification of the necessary elements and relations that can constitute any form of cooperation. Using motivation as the relation, four major motivating factor categories are identified-personal, corporate, activity, and the environment-each of which contains numerous subfactors from which are selected 17 motivating guidelines (subfactors) around which the study is conducted for three areas of cooperation: continuing engineering education, consultancy services, and research
