Abstract :
A four-year undergraduate program in computer system engineering is proposed. This program provides the student with the necessary background, at the elementary and advanced levels, for both software and hardware. The student in this program would have a balanced, broadly based education and a solid foundation in the basic concepts and practices necessary to enter the computer field. The proposed program meets the 1978 recommendations of the Association for Computer Machinery (ACM) and their updates. It is compatible with the 1983 IEEE Computer Society model program in Computer Science and Engineering, and it fulfils the accreditation requirements of both the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and The Computer Science Accreditation Board (CSAB)
