Abstract :
Adaptive beamforming antenna (ABA) is widely recognized as a primary technique which can remarkably enhance the performances of wireless networks in terms of capacity and throughput by spatial filtering. However, in practical networks, beamforming weights of ABA can be deteriorated due to direction of arrival (DOA) estimation errors. In this paper, the performances of ABA in existing DOA estimation errors scenarios are investigated from system capacity and throughput aspects. Noticeable performance degradations are observed due to the DOA estimation errors and the extent of effect on performance is presented.
