Abstract
An adaptive filtering and signal averaging procedure for the detection of fetal electrocardiograms (FECGs) from abdominal recordings is discussed. Simultaneous three-channel recordings of ECGs are obtained on prenatal patients. Data recorded on analog magnetic tape are subsequently digitized on a microcomputer for analysis. The sampling rate is 1000 Hz and the resolution is 12 bits. The results show that this method can produce an enhanced fetal signal
