  • Abstract
There exist many limitations in the widely utilized AC method to melt ice. In this paper, it is proposed an technology which applies DC to melt ice. It also introduces the deicing power supply, takes the conductor LGJ-400 as an example to explain the harmonic wave and the harmonic suppression caused by deicing with DC, and expound its influence on the line waving about and the stress on the iron tower. Meanwhile, in this paper, it put forward the idea of melting ice by DC in 500 kV power line. The technology of deicing by DC has outstanding advantages because the equivalent direct impedance is much less-than alternative impedance.
