Abstract
This paper presents the design of a novel dual-band coax-fed microstrip patch antenna (MPA), loaded with a fractal complementary split ring resonator (CSRR) for dual-band operation and partially defected ground structure (PDGS) for bandwidth enhancement. The proposed antenna operates in the WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access, 3.3-3.8 GHz) and entire WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network, 5.15-5.85 GHz) frequency bands with satisfactory far-field gain and efficiency.
