            Abstract : 
The l1-optimal linear time-invariant compensator may have an order significantly higher than that of the plant. Here the author considers the discrete time setting, and shows that for a certain class of problems, which includes the classical feedback configuration with a stable plant, there always exists a low order nonlinear controller which provides the same level of performance
