Abstract
A new algorithm for the automatic generation of two-dimensional triangular finite element uniform meshes is presented. All interior triangles are equilateral. A new algorithm for automatic h refinement is also presented, where the uniform mesh is the initial triangulation. Grading of the mesh is controlled by a node spacing function or by an a posteriori error estimate. Several cross-section waveguide examples are presented.
