Abstract :
It has been known that in bit-interleaved coded-modulation with iterative decoding (BICM-ID), signal constellation and mapping have a strong influence on the system´s error performance. This paper presents good mappings of various 8-ary constellations for BICM-ID systems operating over a frequency nonselective block Rayleigh fading channel. Simulation results for the error performance of different constellations/mappings are also provided and discussed.
