Abstract :
• Conformal EO is needed as a complement to conformal RF, for both sensing and weapons - Conformal, structural, sub aperture arrays give the ability to put a much large aperture array on tactical platforms • Conformal, non mechanical ,beam steering can now provide wide angle steering at high efficiencies - Birefringent gratings will enable wide angle, efficient steering - VCOPA will improve even more on efficiency if we can get the speed up. • Phasing methods for imaging through multiple sub apertures are developing - Spatial wavefront measurements allow use of low bandwidth detector arrays - High bandwidth detectors will become more available • While I did not address it here, we also need “solid state’ methods of switching between imaging arrays
