Abstract

Prototype developments for the rehost of the current weather surveillance radar-1988 Doppler (WSR-88D) radar product generation (RPG) and radar data acquisition (RDA) platforms to open systems compliant platforms will be accomplished by teams outside of the operational support facility (OSF). The OSF, however, will be responsible for the field implementation and operational support of the upgraded platforms. This paper presents details of the planning, training, and development activities involved with the OSF transition to open systems WSR-88D support
