Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the dynamic mechanical performance of fixation techniques used in hamstring tendon reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament. Testing is done in-vitro using polyurethane bone-analog foam to maintain a uniform model of the tibial bone. The fixation constructs are evaluated according to cyclic creep/slip performance, failure strength, and stiffness by implementing a new method of individually loading the four strands of hamstring tendon.
