Abstract :
Ice flood disasters in winter often harass the northern China, which have brought out adverse impact on water conservancy facilities and the normal life of residents living by the river basin. In natural conditions, the Taohe River does not freeze in winter; however, its flow characteristics and flow regime have been currently changed due to the construction of hydropower stations in Taohe River upstream, the ice is correspondingly apt to cause harm. According to the two-year data of actual running of reservoir in winter for Dazhuang Hydropower Station in Taohe River upstream, the present paper conducts an in-depth analysis over the impact of the ice removal in winter on the design for years´ average indices of power generation for cascade hydropower stations and Dazhuang Hydropower Station, and optimizes the joint scheduling mode of ice removal in winter for reservoirs of hydropower stations in Taohe River upstream, thereby increasing the total power generation of cascade power stations and economic benefits of Dazhuang Hydropower Station. Futhermore, this paper also proposes that the determinant of reservoir water level and land acquisition and resettlement in Taohe River upstream is the ice conditions in winter rather than summer floods.
