Abstract
The reflected GPS signal is usually considered as multipath, which will affect the position precision in the application of GPS. But the reflected signal always contains information of the objects and will be useful for remote sensing and target identification. On the analysis for the extra time delay of the reflected GPS signal, the extra delay of the code phase and carrier phase of the reflected to direct signal are discussed. In view of the deficiency of current commercial GPS receivers, software receiver system with right-hand-circular-polarized (RHCP) and left-hand-circular-polarized (LHCP) antennas is provided here to validate the analysis. Results show that there is obvious extra delay of code phase of the reflected relative to direct signal, which will be a good reference to remote sensing and target detection based on GPS signal.
