Abstract :
MCT connected in circuit alters internal electrical parameters of generator. This means the generator mathematical model isn´t identical with the generator in experiment. This makes the generator modeling more complicated. Rogowski coil doesn´t contact with measured circuit. It won´t change parameters of generator. Based on simulation and experiment, the paper introduces a current sensor composed of Rogowski coil and properly designed active integrator. Tests show the sensor has a good ratio error and linearity. Moreover, the output of the sensor can reproduce transient fault current well. In a dynamic generator internal fault experiment, waveforms from digital simulation, MCT and the sensor were contrasted. The result shows that the output of the sensor is closer to the digital simulation result waveform. Applying the sensor in generator simulation research will make the task convenient.
