Abstract :
An experimental system is development in this paper. An inverter fed induction motor drive the generator as if it were driven by a real wind turbine. For a given wind turbine, the shaft power is related to the generator speed and wind speed. The power-speed characteristics of a wind turbine are physically implemented by an induction motor drive. The indirect flux field oriented control strategy is used for torque control. With the rotor flux oriented transformation, the q-axis current of induction motor can be used to control the motor torque, and the d-axis current is used to regulate the rotor flux. After two PI regulators, the stator voltage vector demand is obtained. Using the space vector PWM algorithm, the IGBT inverter drives the induction motor to output the required torque.
