Abstract :
The input of nutrient of vegetations in riparian zone in Xiangxi River was few viewed. Here we aimed to ascertain the sources and dynamics of the Xiangxi River´s nutrient. Litter was collected by box(100 × 100 × 20 cm3) and the decomposition rate was measured. The content of nitrogen (TN), phosphorus (TP), and total organic carbon (TOC) in riparian zone soil were also analysed. The main results showed that: 1) The amount of input of litters is 604.57 g.m-2.y-1 and had a significant seasonal patter; 2) The leaf accounted for 81.9% of litter; 3) The riparian zone average content of TOC was 16.66 g.kg-1; TN was 0.77 g.kg-1, TP was 2.92 g.Kg-1, all lower than those of natural soil. Conclusions: 1) leaf was the main component of litter in Xiangxi River riparian zone; 2) The main nutrient in riparian zone soil would release into the water.
