Abstract
An analysis is made of the performance of a multichannel nonpersistent CSMA/CD network operating with channels that are susceptible to random noise corruption. A multichannel architecture is studied in view of its superior performance as well as its increased reliability. It is shown that despite an increased susceptibility to noise-induced packet failure owing to longer packet transmission time, the use of multiple channels still brings about improvements in throughput and delay performance
