Abstract
In this paper, we propose a realistic analytical framework to evaluate the performance of concurrent channel change stream delivery techniques. Our analysis utilizes the results from the latest statistical research on user distributions and channel switching activities in IPTV networks to improve the accuracy of performance evaluations. We discuss in detail the proposed framework and examine the critical performance measures based on the derived analysis. Comparisons with the earlier studies suggests improved accuracy in the decision making process that can optimize the resource allocation in the network to effectively support the concurrent delivery techniques.
