Abstract :
New wide single mode strip and grating loaded waveguide on thin SOI structure is proposed. Waveguide has mode size ~10 mm and propagation loss <; 0.5 dB/cm and it is built by 0.16 mm silicon nitride strip and gratings with period 0.6 mm placed over silica cover of slab silicon. It could be the basic for multiple photonic devices for fiber optics telecommunication.
