  • Abstract
This paper discusses a modeling and simulation package for electric vehicle design. It is a GUI-package developed using MS Visual C++ 20008 at Lamar University, Lamar-EVSim1 2.0. The EV element-models are specified by a set of dynamic equations. The constant-set associated with each dynamic equation is the input data to the simulation system. The algorithms used are context-sensitively displayed. It is a feed-backward simulator that estimates the vehicle element-by-element requirements/performance hierarchically starting from the tire, gear-box, motor-controller, battery-pack, and finally the overall vehicle. Lamar Electric Vehicle I is used as a hardware-platform to verify the simulation results.
