Abstract
Improving knowledge work processes has become one of the biggest challenges for contemporary enterprises to enhance their competitiveness in modern economies. Our research aims to develop services to guide process participants to advance process steps towards best practices. This paper will focus on a way for describing knowledge work processes. A work process specification language (WPSL) will be proposed. Using it, best practices of knowledge work processes integrated from diverse different sources can be described, and according to the description, supportive services will be dynamically organized and provided for process participants to guide them to advance process steps with the attempts to increase their productivity and reduce required cost. The paper will present the WPSL and explore the approach to organizing supportive services based on the framework the WPSL provides.
