Abstract :
Preliminary results are presented relating to the problem of blind equalisation of a multilevel PAM series for nonminimum phase channels. A two-step relay approach, based on higher-order cumulant fitting, is represented which overcomes the problem of a multimodal cost function in channel identification. In order to apply a third-order cumulant based approach to symmetrically distributed multilevel PAM series, a distribution transformation pair is suggested. Computer simulations show that the algorithm proposed is efficient and is robust in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise
