Abstract :
In this paper a new method based on discrete wavelet transform is proposed. The method can determine the line voltage notch indices for the power quality monitoring purpose. One cycle of the line voltage is decomposed with discrete wavelet transform and then obtained details are used for calculation of the notch indices. Various wavelet functions are tested and the suitable function is specified. This method is applied to some simulated and real waveforms and results confirm its accuracy.
