Abstract :
This paper proposes a polynomial based inverter loss estimation method. From the I-V characteristics of the inverter switching event, different sets of polynomial functions that can accurately describe the switching behaviors are determined first and then it is used in the inverter loss estimation. The proposed method is simple and computationally effective. Simulation results indicate that this method shows improved accuracy in inverter loss estimation compared to a steady state power based lookup table models over drive cycle.
