Abstract :
The 3T4B code for transmission on optical fiber is analyzed. The Markov chains of AMI-3T4B and HDB3-3T4B coded signals are found, and the power spectral density is evaluated. It is shown that the line signal obtained by 3T4B transcoding is suitable for transmission on optical fiber when the ternary signal is an AMI coded sequence as well as when it is an HDB3 coded sequence. using the 3T4B transcoding, the required transmission rate is less than for 1T2B transcoding
