Abstract :
This paper investigates the influence of AC line strength on the voltage stability of interconnected AC/DC system. It is shown that a weak AC transmission line coupled with a relatively heavy loading can have a negative impact on the voltage stability of the interconnected AC/DC system. Static voltage stability of the modified two-area, four-generator power system is investigated using both sensitivity analysis and eigenvalue analysis. The analytical results are verified using time domain simulations.
