Abstract :
In order to provide a high performance receiving solution for Near Field Communication (NFC), this study presents a non-coherent solution based on energy detection receiving technology of Ultra Wideband (IR-UWB) Impulse Radio. And the circuit chip implementation of the proposed receiver is provided and designed in 0.18μm RF CMOS technology with 1.8V power supply to achieve data-rate of 250Mbps, low complexity and low power dissipation, by employing a LNA, a squarer, an integrator, two amplifiers, and a comparator, of which the squarer and integrator play the important roles in energy detection. At the data rate of 250Mbps, post-simulation results show the total power dissipation is about 36mW, meanwhile, the noise performance is satisfactory.
