Abstract :
The author describes an array principle which combines the polarization performance of the antenna elements with the special properties of symmetrical four-element structures. Circular polarization with a high degree of cross-polarization discrimination can be obtained with these antennas with no need for extremely optimized system components. The typical radiation pattern for a low-gain circularly polarized antenna is presented. Examples for possible realizations of the array principle are shown.<>
