Abstract
An online gear fault diagnosis system is designed using digital signal processor DSP-TMS320F2812(F2812) provided by TI (Texas Instrument) as the core processor. The system can run independently without the upper monitor, and its hardware is composed by the various peripheral modules of F2812, which includes data acquisition of the vibration signal, rotation speed signal, digital signal, and can communicates with the upper monitor by RS-232 protocol and CAN (Controller Area Network) bus. According to the common faults of gears, the digital filter algorithm, time domain statistical indexes, power spectrum and envelope demodulation spectrum are exploited in data processing phase for fault feature extraction. The system can obtain the type, location, and extent of the fault from the fault feature vector. Tests show that the system can realize on-line monitoring for a long time, and can identify the faults correctly with greater accuracy.
