Abstract :
In two tier cellular networks with femtocells suited within a macrocell, interference limits the throughput per link. In this paper we study the effect of using sectorized antennas for femtocell BSs to decrease the interference power resulting from transmitter power of femtocell BSs and increase the minimum achievable SINR in femtocells subject to a constraint on the minimum SINR required for macrocell connections.
