Abstract
This paper presents an alternative formulation of the state estimation problem intended for radial distribution networks. The state variables are chosen in such a way that a linear measurement model arises, subject to a set of quadratic constraints. The resulting model is particularly attractive when the measurement set comprises a large proportion of voltage magnitude and ampere measurements. Simulation results are presented showing the features and advantages of the proposed method.
