  • Abstract
This research took the No. 3 line of Xi´an subway system as the study subject for assessment of impact upon local cultural relics protection. The author hereby proposed out principles for protection of cultural relics in subway engineering. In this paper, a ground settlement model was presented for prediction of its potential occurrences in period of tunnel construction. And some detailed data came forward. As the proposed subway line crosses the remains of Chang´an City of Tang Dynasty, the breadth parameters of the subsider, 37m beyond the central line of the track, gets to 9.96m, and the maximum land subsidence up to 0.023m. Accordingly, a scenario was formed for protection of Chang´an City Remains as the subway tunnel passes through. That will drop off farthest the ill impact upon the remains from subway construction and bring forward an environment-friendly development of track transport.
