Abstract :
The zone of influence of the ground potential rise is analyzed based on a real case scenario. It is shown that the concept of zone of influence is quite complex if not totally blurred in the context of a modern convoluted topology involving transmission lines, distribution lines, water pipes of small towns and villages, and it is difficult to predict the location of zones of high potentials without the appropriate computer simulations.
