Abstract :
A parallelepipedal cavity resonator consisting of eight equal-size parallelepipeds alternatively filled with doublepositive material and double-negative metamaterial is studied, in the frequency domain. The most general conditions under which resonant fields can exist independently of frequency are determined; these fields contain six independent amplitudes and six independent wavenumbers.
