Abstract :
Simulation of delay and cross-talk in VLSI interconnects is becoming important in high speed systems designs. However, the conventional circuit simulation involving dispersive system of VLSI interconnects is extremely CPU expensive. Several accurate and efficient methods based on, (1) numerical inversion of Laplace transform (NILT) and (2) complex frequency hopping (CFH) for the simulation of VLSI interconnects are discussed. Also, the extension of moment matching techniques for the case of interconnects with frequency dependent distributed models or full wave models has been presented. The proposed techniques ore useful for the accurate and efficient transient simulation involving high speed interconnects in MCMs, PCBs, VLSI chip packaging and high speed systems design
