Abstract
The paper analyzes the impact of geothermal exploitation in Dongda region of Guanzhong Basin on ground temperature by means of thermal infrared remote sensing technology and brightness temperature method. Through quantitative inversion of US LandsatETM remote sensing data, it is found that an area of 0.51 km2 has seen temperature rise due to geothermal exploitation, 3.72°C higher than mean temperature. This result corresponds with the distribution of geothermal wells over this area, which indicates that brightness temperature could reflect the impact of geothermal exploitation on ground temperature in good way. It also verifies that geothermal exploitation has influenced local ambient temperature to a certain degree.
